What is cPanel for?

cPanel makes it much easier for you to adjust all the parameters and features of your website by serving as an easy and helpful interface.  You can manage security options for your websites such as SSL certificates, passwords, and firewalls through cPanel.  Additionally, cPanel is adept at managing hosted email accounts allowing you to set email queues, mailbox storage size, and other features.   You don’t need cPanel to manage your web data, but it is much more difficult and time consuming with cPanel’s streamlined and time-tested interface.

Does using cPanel involve third-party access or costs?

The cPanel software and server support is supplied by any hosting provider that offers cPanel access.  The technical staff at cPanel will assist your hosting provider with technical issues as needed, but overall the management of cPanel, and your web data, in general, is between you and your hosting provider.  Qualified hosting providers will also clarify the full cost of your plans with them and which plans, if any, include cPanel access.

Will I need to take any tutorials?
